The Script
George: Hello we are copyright heroes we are an organisation that are trying to stop piracy as it is going to absolutely ruin the film and other industries.
Max: Our aim is to by May 2015 we want people to fully understand what will happen to the future of our creative minds when copyright theft is performed and also educate people in the fact that copyright theft is genuine theft.
Shai: We intend to do this by creating a campaign using social media as our main advertising ground this is because we know our target audience, male teenagers often use this, therefore we will be appealing to them in the type of education they most enjoy.

Max: People breaching copyright is a problem because companies only make movies and music because they believe they can make money through doing this however if they don’t make money this can be a problem.
Shai: These problems will include there soon being a lack of films being created as the companies believe there won’t be any money in it.
George: Also by buying these pirated films it not only does damage to the film and music industry, it also helps fund other illegal and awful crimes such as drugs and human trafficking.
Shai: Do you personally want to help fund these awful crimes?
George: Of course you don’t

Shai: As we look at the results of our survey something that really shocked us was that only 17.65% hadn’t watched a pirated movie. This number is far too low it should be 100% as the lasting effects of this piracy can be devastating.
Max: When asked how many pirated films people watch a month, if any, there was no middle ground. People were either watching 1-5 a month or at least over eleven this is at the least double the number. This tells us some people are much more of a problem than others watching large amounts of films.

Shai: When asked if they download pirated films it was was a very close vote with 58.82% saying no whereas 41.18%. said yes. It is very good to see that the no vote won as this shows that these people obviously care about films far more than the yes voters.
George: With these people that said yes 25% watch pirated films about once a week whereas another 25% watching them about monthly however it would be much better if both these numbers were in fact zero.

Max: When asked if they knew about the impacts of piracy only 58.82% said yes, this then means we need to educate the other 41.18% about these impacts so hopefully this can then stop them downloading illegally.
George: Only 23.53% knew about the crimes that piracy funds, this must now be one of our focal points of our campaign we need to educate people on whether they want their children to end up on drugs because of them buying a DVD.
Shai: We can use it as a shock factor technique to maybe scare these young people away from buying and downloading pirated films illegally by going down the education route.

Max: As we take a deeper look into our target audience we believe that the class of the person would probably be C1 and below, this is because they wouldn't have as much disposable income as people in class B.
George: This would then mean it would save them money downloading instead of buying them. As some people consider DVD’s to be quite expensive.
Shai: We believe they would be a male probably between the ages of 13-18, this is because at this young age it means they probably rely on their parents for the money and lift to go to the cinema.
Max: However if they download them they are both free and you can watch them at home, this then means they are self reliant watching these movies.
George: Also for the younger of the teenagers they may not be able to see the films they want at the cinema as they may be a 15 or 18 and their parents may not purchase them for them as they don’t want them to see them.
Shai: However if they sit and watch them in their room and watch them after downloading them then their parents have no control over it.

Max: Thanks for listening we hope those of you who don’t download continue not to and those of you who do stop.
